About
The Department of Accounting is committed to original and high-quality research in accounting, broadly defined. We research across a broad range of important areas, including financial and non-financial corporate reporting, management accounting, auditing and corporate governance, and data analytics. In recent years, members of the Department have published in many leading accounting journals including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review and Review of Accounting Studies, and in leading journals in related fields such as Management Science and the Journal of Finance. Many faculty members serve as editors and on editorial boards of internationally excellent journals, and play leading roles in academic associations.
The Department’s core faculty group is diverse, currently including 6 Full Professors, 8 Associate Professors, and 9 Assistant Professors. The Head of the Department is Miles Bernard Gietzmann. We offer an extensive portfolio of compulsory and elective courses for students of most Bocconi BSc and MSc programs and in SDA-Bocconi MBA, EMBA and masters programs.
